Web-based Visual Designer

TaskStream is seeking a visual designer with a passion for designing elegant and usable interfaces that showcase a deep understanding of the latest advances in interaction patterns and user-centric principles.

The graphic designer will collaborate with product managers and user experience architects to develop and refine the look and feel of a large-scale educational web-based application and work closely with the software development and technical teams to stay current on web technologies and software standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-fidelity interface mockups for production based on functional specifications and wireframes

• Maintain branding and consistency across all modules of the application

• Perform quality control to include W3C quality mark up validation, link checking and visual review

• Assist UI/UX team in maintaining the pattern library and style guide

• Assist marketing team in creating business graphics, HTML emails, presentations and print materials

• Participate in special projects as needed

Skills Required

• Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign (Windows preferred)

• Excellent communication skills and exceptional eye for details

• Knowledge of design best practices, cross-browser behavior and accessibility guidelines

• Flexibility and an ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities

• Experience designing for mobile and tablet applications strongly desired

• Advanced HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills strongly desired

• Print production experience a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant design experience with web-based applications

• Minimum BA in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field

• Experience with or interest in Education strongly desired
