Web User Experience Coordinator
This position leads user experience efforts and provides support in the area of web project coordination. It is responsible for leading usability efforts of program web sites; creating and maintaining a web project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and staff assignments; assisting the technical team in design and development tasks, and managing the web analytics process.
Anticipated duties for the primarily grant funded position include:
Manage user experience and usability of program web sites:
-Provide leadership on user experience best practices.
-Analyze audiences and their information and functional needs to determine user requirements and preferences.
-Work with program management to define strategy, content, and features for web site design.
-Develop processes and strategies that enhance the user experience. -Investigate new web technologies to improve user experience in discovering, searching, finding, or acquiring online resources.
-Lead usability efforts, including formal usability studies, development of personas, and heuristic review.
-Document and communicate intended user experience processes to program staff using wireframes, mockups, process maps, schematics, and other tools and methods.
Coordinate web project development:
-Collaboration with program staff to define Web project scope, goals and deliverables.
-Develop project plans and effectively communicate plans to program staff.
-Set and manage project expectations with program staff.
-Assist Program Director in assigning tasks and responsibilities to staff members.
-Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables.
-Continually monitor and report on the progression of web project development.
Web Analytics and Search Engine Optimization:
-Analyze web search log and web use files to determine user preferences and recommend areas for web site content development.
-Compile statistical reports to show trends in web site traffic.
-Work with webmaster to ensure that program web sites are optimized for search engines.
Participate in Center for Rural Health and other professional activities:
-Accept opportunities to participate on committees, make presentations and publish appropriate research or accomplishments.
-Keep current on the latest developments in the field and areas of interest through reading and electronic mail communications.
-Contribute to the advancement of the profession and status of the Center for Rural Health and the University.
