We’re seeking an Internet front end developer to design, enhance and develop innovative and secure single- and multi-system Web properties and applications. We’re looking for a full-time Internet Front End Developer 2 at our headquarters in the Kansas City area. In this role you will be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing new front-end best practices, frameworks and technologies. You will also consider user feedback and data when developing moderately complex solutions to contribute to the evolution of Garmin’s online standards. Other essential functions include:
-Works independently in an exciting fast-paced, dynamic environment
-Provides solutions for moderately complex problems for existing applications
-Maintains, improves, and extends existing applications with limited assistance from other associates
-Works collaboratively and professionally in a team environment to determine general approach and specific solutions to technical problems
-Reviews complex tasks for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy
-Works with team members to develop and implement unit and system testing processes for single or multi system projects
-Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
-Responsible for planning small/medium sized projects or tasks
Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND 2 years’ relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include:
-Outstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
-Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions
-Must demonstrate proficiency implementing the latest best practices and patterns to build user-focused
-Experience with modern tools such as (GIT, CI/CD, PaaS, Node)
-Experience with SASS
-Experience with REST Services
-Have worked in an Agile environment
-Work experience with a CMS
-Previous experience working in a team environment and a diverse online portfolio demonstrating a thorough understanding of current front end coding practices is highly preferred!
