Web Editor, Teach For America (Flexible, New York Preferred)
Teach For America has just kicked off a large-scale project to overhaul the content of its website, www.teachforamerica.org. The Web Editor will work with the Director of Content Strategy on all aspects of this project, including content auditing, commissioning new photo/video content, and writing and editing new copy. The Web Editor will also be responsible for everyday editorial tasks, such as making regular updates to the content on Teach For America’s website. This is a temporary full-time position.
Education and experience requirements:
Four-year college degree in English, marketing, or a related field
2+ years experience in web editing or content strategy, including creating or commissioning text, photo, and video content specifically for online channels
Project management experience and a proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Strong interest in Web best practices and knowledge of how websites work
Experience working in content management systems
Excellent grammar, writing, and editing skills, including familiarity with AP style
Fluent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Compensation for this role will fall between $21 and $25/hour, and will be based on type and breadth of experience.
