About us:

We’ve got conference rooms named after dead rock stars, but sometimes we meet at our bar. We have the occasional impromptu jam session. Dogs are welcome, if not encouraged. We don’t settle for the first good idea. We actually like each other.

We recently bought and renovated a historic building in the West Loop area of Chicago. Our culture is casual, just like our dress code (I draw the line at sweatpants). There are no corner offices, because there are no offices – even for partners.

About you:

Experience:

We’re looking for 2+ years of professional experience, and a demonstration of your capabilities.

Duties:

Our range of clients mean an ever-evolving range of duties & technologies. Our ongoing search for new/better ways to successfully impact on our audiences keeps it interesting. Front end and back end, web/mobile apps & sites, CMS, user systems, flash content, display and rich media banners, CRM, etc. Developers are not silo’d to specific clients, so we all work on whatever needs to be done, both individually and in teams. Lots of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, and various flash deliverables. Some PHP. Occasional Java. Rarely, .NET. Strong understanding of usability is important, but graphic design chops are not a requirement for this position. If you have them they will most likely be put to good use.

Our integrated agency model means that your work will be an important piece of every campaign or project you touch. Advertising is a team sport, so you’ll work with creative & account teams throughout the life of a project. As part of a team you’ll be contributing your knowledge to both what we should do as well as how we do it.

Requirements:

  • HTML, CSS & Javascript (current best practices)
  • Responsive CSS Techniques
  • Ruby on Rails
  • PHP
  • Flash animation and development
  • Strong understanding of usability
  • Linux server experience
  • Familiarity with developing using 3rd party APIs
  • git
  • Photoshop capable
  • Mac proficiency

Nice to have:

  • Mobile App Development
  • Agency experience
