Web Developer

Net Victories, a new media political consulting firm, seeks a freelance Web Developer to work on projects out of its Houston office. Net Victories collaborates with Democratic officeholders and candidates, as well as other individuals and organizations working in and around government, to construct websites and craft online communication strategies.

Responsibilities
The Web Developer will play a key role for the firm by implementing new websites for clients, maintaining existing websites, and developing plugins, templates, and web applications. This is an ideal job for a talented, hard-working web developer who is interested in politics and working for political causes.

This person will report to two staff members in Houston and will be responsible for completing web builds to specification, handling maintenance of existing websites, and working on in-house development projects. The Web Developer will interface with consultants and graphic designers to produce functional and attractive web solutions for clients.

Qualifications
Applicants must be fluent in standards-compliant HTML and CSS, with medium to high PHP experience. Wordpress theme/plugin development experience is a huge plus, as is Facebook development experience. Applicants must be self-motivated, able to develop new projects from start to finish, as well as maintain existing code.

An eye for design and experience with design software (Illustrator and Photoshop) a plus, but not required.

Compensation
A per-project fee, plus an hourly maintenance fee, will be negotiated commensurate with experience.
