ABOUT THE COMPANY
iPressroom, Inc. (http://www.ipressroom.com) is a leading provider of online newsrooms and microsites, utilizing a proprietary CMS with software as a service (SaaS) solutions. Based in Los Angeles, the company supports the rapid deployment of online newsrooms for businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.

POSITION AVAILABLE
We are in search of a freelance web designer who can work within a structured, highly repeatable workflow for designing templates with standardized content, layouts and features. We conduct extensive project planning internally and will work with the designer to establish deadlines on all projects. Final deliverables will be finished PSDs.

COMPENSATION
Pay will be a negotiated flat rate per project, with 1-5 projects per month pending your availability. A skilled designer can complete any single project in 8-12 total hours, including pre-defined rounds of notes/revisions.

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS
- Portfolio demonstrating web design for a broad range of companies and organizations. Could include designs for large corporations, individual blogs, non-profit designs, banners, icons, etc. Displaying ability to achieve various styles is a must.

- Must have a command of modern web typography and how it can be used to define information architecture. Our sites contain a large amount of news and text content and require clear, easy-to-read organization.

- Strong understanding of social media and how it is integrated into a standard user experience.

- While you will be working with an experienced UI and Development team, it is important to have a detailed knowledge of modern web UI to know what is technically achievable using cutting-edge web technologies such as AJAX, as well as what limitations exist due to legacy technologies such as IE6.

- Ability to work within strict deadlines to deliver standardized package of designs is critical. We’re looking for a designer with whom we can develop an ongoing working relationship. We have consistent projects every month and need someone who is interested in consistent work, not just occasional projects.

- While it is not heavily used, we do occasionally require flash kiosk or banners. Please include sample work in creating interactive banners, media players, etc.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Multimedia design experience such as video titling is a big plus.

LOCATION
While the company is based in Los Angeles, the designer can work remotely.
