Web designer needed for a growing Internet educational company, whose products (books, lessons, worksheets, and activities) meet the diverse needs of all PreK – 6 grade students. This opportunity is located in Ann Arbor, MI.

Seeking an expert at designing web interfaces, who has a clear opinion concerning design, usability and interaction. Someone who can match creativity with accurate pixels. An online portfolio of strong design and conceptual work is a key deciding factor.

Responsibilities:

1. Create web designs that adhere to stakeholder expectations, usability standards, and align with established product styles.
2. Convert designs and mockups into HTML and CSS for use by the web developers.
3. Consult with product owners and developers to ensure the application of usability standards and company style guides.
4. Work effectively within tight schedules that include multiple projects and timelines.

Requirements:

- Links to samples of your work.
- In depth knowledge of HTML and CSS with attention to standards and best practices.
- A sharp eye for details
- In depth knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
- A strong working knowledge of design tools common to design and Web development, such as Photoshop and Flash
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience

Galaga Bonus Round:

- Proficiency with Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0 and the ability to write new script and to work from existing code and frameworks
- A working knowledge of PHP, Javascript
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in Graphic Arts and Design
- Experience working within the education market a plus.
