As a Web Designer at Lexar Media, Inc., a subsidiary of Micron Technology, you will be part of a dynamic team developing a world-class external Web presence for the Lexar brand. You will play a pivotal role in defining and building the future Web strategy for Lexar.com. As a member of the Lexar Media Web Team, you will partner with Micron’s Information Systems (IS) Team to drive improved processes and standards for client-facing design and development across Lexar’s public-facing Web sites. In this position, you will actively plan, develop, and implement innovative Web solutions that support Lexar Media’s business goals. You can expect to collaborate with IS, outside vendors, and agencies to develop new site features and enhancements. Additionally, you will collaborate with Marketing, IS, content publishers, and business groups to define strategies and goals for Web projects.
In this individual contributor role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Developing and implementing effective content, tools, and features for marketing and communications campaigns and corporate content.
Developing and modifying new presentation templates and CSS files in the Web content management system.
Developing wireframes, graphical mockups, HTML comps, and flowcharts.
Ensuring that the Web site consistently meets client-side coding and presentation standards, while testing the site regularly.
Analyzing site usage, making recommendations and developing enhancements based on usability principles and best practices.
Troubleshooting issues and making necessary improvements to the Web user interface.
Developing and adhering to a Web style guide, Web standards, and design specifications.
This position will be based out of Meridian, Idaho. Relocation is available for this position.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
A minimum of 3 year of relevant experience.
A proven record of creating results-driven Web sites that balance business requirements with a positive user experience.
Project leadership skills, as well as the development, creative, and communications expertise necessary to effectively collaborate, negotiate, clarify, and build solutions.
A high level of self-motivation, with the ability to execute and drive all aspects of projects and deadlines effectively.
Competency with Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, Photoshop, and experience with Flash.
Comprehensive understanding of design and branding for building effective demand generation campaign assets.
Expert knowledge of Web standards and browser compatibility.
Experience with AJAX and Web 2.0 technologies and how they can be leveraged to create improved user experiences and business results.
Experience with administration of content management systems (CMS).
Experience with Drupal. (Preferred)
Knowledge of web analytics.
Excellent Web design and layout skills that blend visual information design with ease of use and accessibility.
Experience with information architecture principles and the development of deliverables such as site inventories, blueprints, wireframes, and use cases.
Experience in working with international web sites and stakeholders.
Experience in managing basic search campaigns. Knowledge of SEO and SEM.
Proven expertise in human factors and knowledge of usability best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by verbal and written communication skills.
The desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent additional experience.
