Web Designer, University Advancement
The position of Web Designer will serve as a vital member of highly-collaborative communication department within University Advancement at MSU and partially responsible for implementing integrated marketing strategies on all public facing websites. We are looking for a team member to provide design and development expertise for web and email marketing initiatives including e-newsletters and project-specific websites. This position will manage web projects which support the core initiatives for fundraising and alumni engagement. He/she will also maintain website content. He/she will coordinate with clients from across the University with an emphasis on great customer service. This position will require the candidate to have a creative, flexible, organized and positive approach to his/her work to fit well within a team that strives for high quality, continuous improvement, excellent customer service and an enjoyable work environment.
Three to five years of experience, preferably working within a design-focused environment. Knowledge of Flash/AS3 is a plus. Advanced knowledge of AJAX and its application in dynamic user interfaces. Experience with development technologies (ColdFusion, PHP, ASP.net, MS SQL), basic data mining (JSON, XML, open APIs), and development of popular blog/CMS frameworks (WordPress, Joomla, etc.).
