CheapAir.com is seeking a talented Web Designer / Front End Developer to join our growing team in Los Angeles. More than one million travelers use our site each month to book flights and travel deals. We’ve been featured in Mashable, LifeHacker, Tech Cocktail, CNET and more.

Day to day you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing rebrand and relaunch of CheapAir.com. You’ll be conceptualizing and executing site pages with an aesthetic appeal, an intuitive flow, and an unrelenting focus on conversion optimization. You’ll improve the user experience. You’ll discover we value new ideas, and know how to execute quickly. You’ll work with a small team of developers, programmers and marketers, and report to the head of our dev team.

The position

Web Designer / Front End Developer

Requirements

- Fluent in Adobe Photoshop

- Ability to cut designs into HTML/CSS templates

- Skillful in coding dynamic parts of a web page

- Ability to hand-code clean semantic HTML and CSS

- Skilled in the use of Javascript and frameworks such as JQuery

- A solid understanding of cross-browser layout issues and bugs

- Knowledge of web standards, usability, and best practices

- An online portfolio of the sites you have designed

Experience with any of the following is a plus

- HTML5 and CSS3

- WordPress including customizing widgets and plugins

- HTML email design and development

- Mobile development and responsive web design

- SEO skills related to front-end development

- Web accessibility

- ASP.NET and PHP
