Web Designer / Front End Developer

What we do

You’ve probably never thought about it, but everything you touch has been on a truck at some point before it reached you. The computer or phone you’re looking at right now, the bed you sleep in, the food you eat. Once the truck delivers your computer, phone, bed or spaghetti, it’s empty and the driver needs to get back home. At Coyote Logistics, we find all of those empty trucks on a daily basis and match them up with freight that needs to move for our customers. People who like big words call us a “Third Party Logistics Brokerage”.

Take a look –

How we do it

Because we don’t own any trucks ourselves, we rely on our people and our technology to help us move freight. We have a diverse team of experienced, super-smart, and fun developers that write all of our software and we’re looking for some more people to join our team. If you join our team, you will never be bored and will have the opportunity to work on our external applications, mobile apps, and fun, user-centric internal tools.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced web designer/developer with a sharp eye and an ability to communicate effectively through design and code. If you pressed us for details we’d tell you that expertise in creating clean, production-ready designs for web application UI’s as well as proficiency in front end development employing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are a must. You have to be an expert in Adobe CS, and just like your designs your code should focus on usability and best practices. It should go without saying that you keep on top of current web technologies and trends including CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery. Wordpress experience is a plus.

You must be a team player – not just in a statement in an interview – but really willing to compromise when needed, take charge when called, return to the drawing board when an approach is flawed, and do what’s best for the project and the business in all situations.

What’s in it for you (the fun stuff)

Unless you really enjoy wearing a suit to work, you won’t be doing that here. Summer time means shorts and flip-flops. We take breaks from our work by playing ping-pong or Wii. We have a gym where you can pump iron. We regularly do company lunch and pretty often have company sponsored happy hours. In short, we work hard and play hard. Our offices are located in the Green Exchange building on Chicago’s north side (

What’s in it for you (the HR stuff)

We have a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, PTO, 401(k), flexible spending, life & disability insurance. We offer competitive salaries based on experience.
