User Interface UI UX Designer in Los Angeles
Enterprise Software sucks and we are looking for a detail oriented user interface designer to help us create an elegant, easy to use, highly effective online experience. You will be an integral part of a passionate, world-class team of UI Designers and Product Managers.
BetterWorks is a well funded startup created by those who have created billion dollar products including Farmville, Yammer and PayPal. We are funded by the early investors in Facebook, Google, Zappos, Twitter, Yelp and have marquee clients like Hulu, Panera Bread, Equinox and Shoedazzle.
We are extremely product driven and user focused, which makes the Product UI Team a central part of the success of the company.
You Must BE:
-A cool cat who values integrity and TEAMWORK. We want the kid who shared his crayons with others in elementary school and has true leadership qualities.
-Dedicated and low maintenance—if our router’s broken, you’d be the first to run and get a new one if that’s what it takes to get things done.
-So passionate about product design that you repeat the following mantras during your yoga stretches/ krav maga kicks: “Design for the primary path… simple is default….don’t put anything before communicating value …spend time on first time user experience…”
-A problem solver. The solutions you give birth to are so beautiful and simplistic that they can save the Prime Minister of Malaysia and outshine even Blue Steel and Magnum.
-Smart enough to be realistic and prioritize the few key things that make the largest impact when deadlines are beating down your back.
-Focused and positive. Please, no Debbie Downers.
You Must HAVE:
3 to 10 years of relevant industry experience in many of the following:
-User flow and diagram design, across all paths (specify which tools you use)
-Page level wireframes (specify which tools you use)
-Hi fidelity page mockups (in Photoshop)
-Visual design excellence (please show us your portfolio)
-Information architecture (simple, organized, optimized)
-Writing comprehensive PRDs
-User research (feedback methods, focus groups, data analysis and recommendations)
-Front end development (building html/css)
-Early-stage startup experience
-Interesting side projects or initiatives
