How we ship software

We work as a team to deliver an outstanding, reliable and scalable solution. We rely on a group of brilliant, motivated engineers that understand that “getting it right” means working hard, taking ownership AND depending on the other smart people on their team. We follow an agile process.

  • Have a strong vision for a modern, simple look and feel for a complex business application
  • Participate and drive the full iterative design process, including: brainstorming, wire framing, prototyping and validating the implementation
  • Engage with stakeholders, users, and the product team to synthesize the wants and needs of our users, with the business and technical requirements
  • Work with Product Development to understand product requirements and turn them into buildable user experiences
  • Contribute toward and employ established UX patterns and conventions in experiences tailored to target devices (desktop, tablets)
  • Produce design deliverables including user flows, sketches at various levels of fidelity, wireframes, journey maps, and other similar tools to demonstrate and to aid the validation of proposed design solutions
  • Communicate your designs to the product and engineering teams
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings
  • Show your outstanding work at biweekly sprint demos

Blueprint is looking for brilliant designers, not a checklist of acronyms. We do however feel that the following qualifications are necessary for you to be successful as part of our team:

  • Experience with the rigors of shipping commercial enterprise software
  • Demonstrated passion for delivering an outstanding user experience for complex applications
  • 3+ years of UI/UX design experience for a software vendor
  • Demonstrated fluency in best practices for web-based and mobile information architecture and responsive design, as well as deep and broad knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Degree in digital design, graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven ability in a variety of design tools such as Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, Omnigraffle, and Dreamweaver
  • Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, and marketing
  • Demonstrable experience designing and documenting navigation structures, information architectures, user interfaces, and interaction models
  • Demonstrable experience designing for Web and Mobile Devices (Tablets)

Nice to have

  • Possess an understanding of what is reasonably possible to achieve within the boundaries of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to develop prototypes in HTML5 / CSS / Javascript a plus
