Support Engineer @ Atlassian, makers of JIRA & Confluence

Responsibilities:

This isn’t your typical Support gig. You will have the responsibility of working with a wide range of customers, from start-ups to large corporations, to help identify and resolve product issues. Atlassian is a growing company and there’s a lot of opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies, people and products. Here are just a few of our Support team’s activities:

  • Verify bugs and work with development on providing fixes
  • Influence product direction based on customer feedback
  • Communicate with customers to resolve issues
  • Publish knowledge base articles to improve our self-help offering
  • Collaborate with our global Support team to serve customers worldwide

Skills/Experience:

A great candidate can hit that sweet spot between a technical and a customer facing role. They have a lust to learn new technologies and are responsible for owning customer issues until resolution. You’re great fit if you have:

  • Top notch written and verbal communication skills and comfort communicating with customers
  • Operating Systems knowledge (Linux, OS X and/or Windows)
  • 1-2 years experience troubleshooting Java/J2EE (or similar) applications
  • Familiarity with databases and demonstrated SQL experience
  • At least 2 years in a technical support or customer service role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Existing experience with Atlassian products a bonus
  • Moxy, charm, curiosity, energy, humor, guts
