Sr. Software Engineer
Atom.com (http://www.atom.com), a division of MTV Networks, is a leading digital comedy network offering thousands of original and UGC comedy videos. We’re looking for a talented Sr. Software Engineer with 7+ years experience managing all technical aspects of a complex, consumer focused website.

Responsibilities
• Provide hands-on coding for complex projects with tight deadlines
• Manage a small engineering team responsible for back-end & front-end website development
• Interface closely with MTVN technology teams located in LA & New York
• Collaborate with project managers to oversee technical design, team assignments, task estimation, implementation and debugging
• Work with senior staff to evaluate and prioritize new features and functionality
Qualifications
• 7+ years designing, building & supporting complex web application code for large consumer focused websites
• Strong knowledge of Java, common design patterns and J2EE MVC Frameworks
• Deep familiarity with technologies like JSP, JSTL and Taglibs
• Comprehensive understanding of FreeMarker, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, DOM and HTML
• Clear understanding of ad serving technologies (DoubleClick, EyeBlaster, Panache) & reporting architectures (Omniture)
• Highly responsible with solid written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing direct engineering reports
• Computer Science BS, MS or equivalent experience

Pluses
• Knowledge of online communities, social networking and video streaming
• Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Perl
• Experience with SQL, JDBC and relational database architecture
