The R&D Bloomberg Law Content Applications group is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated, experienced software engineer with strong technical, problem-solving, and design skills, along with an appreciation for the scope and impact of their work. This group is responsible for building and maintaining the Bloomberg Law Data Management and Search platforms. As part of this team, you will work on developing solutions for content acquisition, data mining, structuring, transformation, and value-add services for Bloomberg Law data products.
- BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or comparable experience
- 5+ years of experience in C++
- Experience with Templates, Boost, and STL a plus
- Database (Oracle, MySQL), XML (dtd, schemas)
- Strong Understanding of OOD and Software Design Patterns
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agile environment with continuous integration
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Java or C# experience a plus
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Legal domain expertise & experience working on legal research platforms a strong plus
