Senior Web Designer
The Florida Institute of Technology is looking for a Senior Web Designer with a graphic design background, an eye for detail and a very strong design sense.
The ideal candidate is a creative, energetic, experienced individual that displays strong graphic design and communication skills. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: work with customers in the design stage; evaluate the site needs, including: target audience, leading competitors, current trends, etc.; design and implement HTML e-mail, banner ads and other web based products that are appropriate to the target audience; write web pages in a combination of codes (HTML and XHTML, CSS), or using code-generating programs (Dreamweaver) that are W3C compliant; decide on how images and other material will be digitally optimized and presented on the Web; ensure the website content is accessible to all groups; test the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions; fix errors; provide client support; update existing content; work closely with Marketing and Communication team members to implement various marketing/communication strategies; communicate problems, concerns or suggestions to supervisors.
Education/Skills required: Bachelor’s degree or 3 years experience in related field required. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, HTML and CSS is required. Demonstrate code/graphic design ability, excellent communication and verbal skills, general understanding of basic marketing principles and best practices. Basic knowledge of Flash, Actionscript, PHP, jquery and server technologies is preferred. Familiar with Mac OSX. Must be multi-task orientated, highly-organized, able to work quickly and efficiently with professional attitude and good communication skills.
