THE POSITION
The City of Glendale, Ca is searching for a highly creative and motivated person to help design next generation websites and applications.

The ideal candidate should have the following skill sets:
• Building sleek, attractive, and functional user interfaces.
• Develop front end interfaces using standard web technologies, such as AJAX, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop interfaces for web and email marketing campaigns.
• Build Rich Internet Applications utilizing industry standard platforms such as Flash and Silverlight.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, specifically in implementing current web effects and trends (simple/sleek text effects, swirls via brush packs, etc.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• CSS
• HTML
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Flash
• Knowledge of User Centered Design, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, and User Interface design principles highly desirable;
• AJAX desirable
• Knowledge of NET PHP/CAKE PHP, or RUBY ON RAILS a big plus
• Three years recent experience as a web designer.

EXPERIENCE
3 years recent exp in the analysis, programming and implementation of government or business computer applications. Recent experience as a web designer is highly desirable.

EDUCATION/TRAINING
Graduation from high school or attainment of GED or CHSPE certificate. AA/AS in computer science or a related field is desirable.

LICENSE
Valid California Class C Driver’s License is required.
