Senior Technical Architect
A leading lifestyle media network is searching for an experienced Senior Technical Architect to drive development for some of their most popular brands.
They need a veteran software pro to help their team build innovative digital products that support revenue growth for one of their biggest categories: food and cooking. These properties reach more than 100 million users a month, so this is anything but small potatoes. To get in the door here, you’ll need experience driving architecture solutions for large consumer-facing media brands, the ability to build cross-functional consensus, and a ruthless approach to prioritization.
This network is developing exceptional experiences on a platform that leverages AWS, APIs, Adobe CQ, iOS, Akamai, and HTML5 video. What does that mean for you? As Senior Technical Architect, you’ll drive the implementation of a technology architecture program aimed at creating some of the most amazing, innovative end-user experiences on desktop and mobile for millions of fans.
You’ll support the tech VP on planning strategy by identifying market gaps, assessing vendor solutions, and defining how these solutions will integrate with existing solutions. You’ll create architectural deliverables for proofs-of-concept, frameworks, documentation, patterns, and more. You’ll participate in release and sprint planning and work with the devs to support post-release iterations. You’re also going to be driving the prioritization of tech debt backlog measures.
But for all your strategic and executional responsibilities, let’s not forget that you’ll need to be a thought leader on the tech team, as well. They’re looking to you to coach the devs on architecture and security best practices, so be prepared to teach.
You’re a seasoned software engineer who’s done your time in the dev trenches at large consumer-facing media properties. You’ve also led or at least participated in the creation of company-wide architecture strategies. You’ve got experience with design, development, and deployment of CMS products, as well as clustered and HA large scale web products.
But beyond just tech skills, you’re a skilled communicator and collaborator who can help multiple stakeholders reach consensus on new products and solutions. You can juggle competing projects and make critical decisions when it comes to prioritization.
Killer dev chops are a must here, but a love of food and cooking–especially a knowledge of the media landscape surrounding it–will earn you an extra Michelin star..
This is a chance to work on products that reach 100+ million users each month. Yeah, you want in.
