Senior Software Developer - Foreign Exchange
The Foreign Exchange (FX) team at Bloomberg develops software to support the core pricing and analysis of currency data on the system. Since all financial instruments rely on currencies, it’s vital that the infrastructure and applications for the currency system are very robust, with high accuracy and availability. Functionality owned by the FX team range from trading strategy backtesting, to realtime high-volume pricing, to innovative price discovery and valuation tools.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable working on all different levels of an application, whether it’s architecting the backend or helping to design and build an intuitive user interface. Software developers on the FX team are responsible for every step in the project life cycle, from extracting and refining requirements from business sponsors and clients, to optimizing calculations in a pricing engine. Leadership and mentoring experience are also highly valued.
- 3+ years C/C++ development experience
- Comfortable in a Unix-like development environment
- Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Leadership, management, and mentoring experience highly valued
- A proven track record in taking a project from initial vision through to production deployment is a must.
