Data Analyst Online Advertising

Within the Strategic Partnerships team of Booking.com we are looking for an enthusiastic team member to take care of data analysis and performance management for our online advertising campaigns. The role requires an analytical mindset and you should work with a hands-on approach. Moreover you are results-oriented, flexible and eager to acquire new skills or knowledge.

This particular data analyst role is part of the analytics team of the Strategic Partnerships department of Booking.com. The team focuses on data aspects of our business on 3rd party websites including: Optimized CPC bidding on 3rd party websites, analyzing key trends, customer loyalty and detecting potential ‘abuse’ by demand partners. You will work in close collaboration with partner account managers, product owners, and other business stakeholders. As an analyst, your main responsibility will be using available data to maximize our 3rd party website business by self-driven research and data mining.

It is important that you have good statistical understanding, strong analytical insight and some programming background. A core aspect of the role is supporting development in report writing and customer queries.

This role requires a highly motivated and result-focused individual with solid business understanding. A successful candidate for this role will have a breadth of technical skills, highly proficient in turning data discoveries into profitable products, and measuring improvements for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze performance of existing advertising campaigns

Make informed (CPC) bid changes to these campaigns

Spot data trends that will help us increase overall performance

Structure campaigns to facilitate data extraction

Combine internal data with 3rd party data to explore new opportunities

Proactively expand advertising scope of campaigns where feasible

Required Skills and Experience:

Fluent in English, written and spoken

Passionate about working with data and numbers

Organized, with an ability to prioritize

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong understanding of statistics and how to apply findings

Basic knowledge of (MY)SQL

Education level M.Sc. or higher

Two years of work experience in a similar role

Preferred skills:

Experience with PPC campaign optimization

Ability analyzing very large data sets (e.g. Hadoop)

Google Analytics
