Senior Interaction Designer for Leading Digital Audio Provider
Senior Interaction Designer
Leading Digital Audio Provider
New York Metro Area
This Hired Guns client is one of the leading providers of downloadable audio content, and they pride themselves on being available wherever and whenever you’re ready to tune in. They are looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to shape and define the customer experience across ALL interactions.
These guys are looking for a true Interaction Designer, a Gun who’s fascinated by the myriad possibilities of HCI. Sure, you love the idea of optimizing an existing product, but what really lights your fire is the shot at innovating new ones and revolutionizing the product experience.
Entrepreneurially-minded and consumer-focused, you find that start-up environments like this one are the best places to produce truly game-changing work. You steadfastly believe that form must follow function, and you think of consumer needs as platform-agnostic. Your experience spans everything from web, to mobile, the iPad and more.
You’ll be the right hand to the current Director of Interaction, so just being experienced isn’t going to cut it. You have the poise it’ll take to interact with and present to everyone from internal stakeholders to executives. And you’ll need some serious documentation skills (wireframes, functional specs, etc.), because this is a highly collaborative company where documents get passed around a lot, and it’s up to you to keep them tight.
This is a high-profile role in a well-known company, and while this group operates under a start-up mentality, it also has the resources to ensure that your ideas see the light of day. As the Senior Interaction Designer, you will be responsible for the research and creation of new experiences around the company’s current product. This is a rapid prototyping, whiteboard and Post-It note kind of culture, and you’ll be using their system to envision new revenue-driving features and products. Your work will span a variety of platforms — from web, to mobile, to connected TV and beyond. You’ll be called on to contribute product features and ideas as well — not just wireframes. And, while e-commerce is definitely a part of the game, it is only a fraction of an experience that will also be highly social.
These guys love their cutting-edge technologies and anything gestural — Xbox Kinect, rdio.com, Pandora.com — and pretty much anything that has a predictive or referral element. For bonus points, call out your favorite predictive or referral web/app-based interactions in your cover letter.
If you are seeking a collaborative culture with small, highly agile teams consisting of passionate people doing exceptional work, this is the place for you.
