The division of Information Technology Services is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Senior Applications Developer. The Senior Applications Developer’s primary responsibility will be to focus on ensuring the development of quality software using best practice architecture, coding practice and development processes on a day- to -day basis. This position coordinates with analysts and functional users to determine functional requirements and provides customization, maintenance and updates as needed. The Developer will also partner with cross-functional teams to establish and support the application development and test environments. The role will also be responsible for Tier 2 and 3 advanced technical support to functional areas. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required along with a demonstrated initiative in continuing studies and coursework. ,Is also required to have five to eight years’ experience with at least one of the following technologies: Object Oriented Programing Language (Java)/Web Application experience (HTTP)/Web Services, Django – python web framework, Integrating with and developing Salesforce.com applications, this includes developing using the APEX programing language, creating workflows and formulas, and is familiar with salesforce.com administration. In addition it is highly desirable to hold two or more years’ experience in the following technologies: RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server) (sql, pl/sql, t-sql), Banner (Student, Finance, AR or Advancement), Scripting Languages (Perl, korn shell, c-shell), CastIron, Informatica or other integration platform experience, Cloud Based Development, Mobile Application Development (HTML5), SQR
The candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work directly with customers, teams, and in a matrix managed environment. This role requires the individual to be forward thinking with application development technologies, along with researching and presenting recommendations. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
