With 4-5 years relevant experience, your main responsibility is to assist the digital team in creating web solutions that meet our clients’ needs and help shape the digital offer of Living Group. Your creativity and technical ability will manifest itself in a wide range of products and services which will help Living Designs to distinguish itself from the competition and offer its clients a truly engaging and superior interactive experience at each and every digital touch-point.

Knowledge, technical skills and experience required:

*A degree or equivalent (or relevant industry experience) in a technical course or related subject

*4-6 years commercial experience of web application development, to include a proven understanding of browser behaviour and issues

*A good understanding of basic application design and architecture, including database interactions, server side scripting, form handling and general application development

*Professional experience working on the LAMP platform

*Experience of a range of systems platforms such as PHP, MySQL & Apache

*A good command of cross browser XHTML, CSS, Javascript (prototype/JQuery), AJAX and issues pertaining to DDA compliance

*Experience of using frameworks; preferably MVC

*Excellent Linux experience including apache server configuration and SVN maintenance

*Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and good eye for design

*Good but not essential:

*Good experience with XML

*A largely agnostic outlook on technologies, even though the role has LAMP at its heart

*Good requirements analysis and technical design skills

*Ability to manage changing business and technical requirements

*Experience writing backend solutions to communicate with Flash

*Ability to work with both design and development teams
