A NOTE FROM THE GUY DOING THE HIRING

I just wanted to preface all of the following HR speak with some words of my own, so don’t run screaming from the room just yet.

We’re an advertising agency with one main focus, and that’s the auto industry. We design and develop campaigns for over a dozen clients. What does that mean to you? Well, it means that loving cars can definitely help you! But not loving them won’t hurt you either, I promise.

I’m going to give you something that not many other job posts will. I’m going to tell you exactly what I want to see. Diplomas, transcripts, experience with Microsoft Word… Those are all great… But they don’t count for much in the creative world. I want to SEE what you can do.

Of course HR is going to ask for a resume, and they’re going to want you to fill out a job application, but what I’m looking for is the fire. I want you to give us the full display of your work. I want you to brag about yourself! That’s what job interviews are about. I want you to wow me, because we’re looking to wow our audience.

Beyond that, I want you to really care about your work. We’re not saving the whales here, but we are designing engaging experiences. We’re all about the customer, and that doesn’t simply mean out client. We think beyond the client and produce work that is meant for our clients’ audience.

Anyways, I’ve rambled on long enough. We’re not a stiff shirt and tie agency. We’ve got a bar, a couple of refrigerators, a pool table, ping-pong, very spacious and colorful offices, and we even cut loose once in a while to go to the race track in Del Mar, or cruise Newport Harbor for the afternoon.

If this sounds like the place for you, and you’ve got the passion for solid design and improving the web, read on.
