The Design and Digital team is is currently looking for a mid-level, full time IA professional to join the growing IA/UX team in Morristown, NJ.

FD, is the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) – a leading consultancy dedicated to helping companies protect and enhance their enterprise value by providing tightly integrated solutions for their most critical communication issues. The Design and Digital Communications Practice of FD offers a suite of digital services to its clients, among them user experience strategy and design.

The Design and Digital team consists of about 40 talented and creative individuals in New York, Philadelphia, Morristown, NJ and Washington DC. Our group breaks down into five general teams: Media, IA/UX, Creative, Client Engagement and Technology. Projects span a variety of industries including real estate, telecom, finance, energy, healthcare and many more. Projects can range from ads and social media campaigns to full-scale strategy and production for 100,000+ employee Intranets. Though part of a much bigger company (which brings with it big benefits), the Design and Digital team maintains a small team feel and a fun and casual work environment.


Meet with clients to gather business requirements and define business objectives

Facilitate the discovery of project requirements

Provide cognitive site reviews as well as competitive reviews

Conduct research via user testing (both remote and in-person/facilitated), analyze results

Collaborate with client service, technical, creative and media teams to formulate holistic solutions

Analyze quantitative and qualitative site feedback (web metrics, surveys, etc) to observe user behavior

Research and document personas to ensure a user-centric approach

Create task analysis and user flow diagrams

Document architecture and design by developing site maps, wire frames, prototypes and conceptual models.

Formulate strategic approach and tactical guidelines

Work with project teams and stakeholders to ensure strategic approach is tested and executed at various phases

Act as champion for IA methodologies and practices throughout the organization


A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Agency experience preferred.

Skills Preferred:

User interface design principles, information design, and web design.

Persona development

Wireframing and prototyping

HTML (required)

Interactive marketing best practices, standards (i.e. Banner ads, search marketing, landing page strategy, etc).

Usability testing processes and methodologies (remote and facilitated testing)

Survey methodologies and market research best practices, as well as an understanding of web analytics and log file analysis and related software products (e.g., WebTrends, ClickTracks, Ominture.)

Business strategy and general web strategy

Business process analysis

As much as we’d love someone with all of these skills, the best candidate has at least most of them. We want someone who can think strategically but still produce quality deliverables under tight deadlines. You should be professional, passionate and (most importantly) willing to constantly learn and stay on top of the latest industry trends and standards.
