About.com is seeking a seasoned full-time Graphic / Web Designer to join its creative team. The designer will have an exciting role designing online web products and visually branded media for the company. Working with senior leads, the designer will support various initiatives across Sales, Marketing and Product departments.

Overall, the designer will exercise commitment and excellence by working collaboratively across functional teams. The designer will promote design consistency, paying mind to balancing the company brand, strategy and overall business objectives.

Applying candidate should present proven online experience in communication design, brand identity, color theory, and web interaction principles including usability and information architecture. As well, candidate should demonstrate solid problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Be highly organized in executing web products that involve design for rich content and information.
• Effectively execute supporting forms of print media including brochures, posters, and advertisements.
• Provide solid, independent thinking with respect to evolving larger brand and campaign experiences.
• Utilize various methods such as sketches, visual mockups, and storyboards to effectively express design and product ideas.
• Carry out and expand core strategies and ideas envisioned by senior leads.
• Effectively collaborate and support other members of the design team.

Requirements:

• BFA in Graphic Design or Interactive Media (Formal design background)
• 3-5 years experience design with rich informational web sites
• Excellent understanding of HTML & CSS
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent experienced with Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver,
• Novice – Intermediate experience in Flash
