A Washington D.C.-based interactive agency is seeking a top-notch Front-end Developer to join its growing, tight-knit team. The successful candidate will be passionate about turning design files into pixel-perfect XHTML and CSS mark up, relying on Javascript libraries like jQuery to enhance the user experience.

We are looking for someone who:

• Can translate design files into interactive interfaces with hand-coded, semantic XHTML and CSS.
• Can write unobtrusive Javascript by hand that utilizes libraries like jQuery.
• Is a team player. The successful candidate has excellent written and communication skills, incredible focus and attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a sometimes-tense environment.
• Adheres to Web standards, best practices, and accessibility and usability guidelines.
• Possesses proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator.
• Knows their way around PHP and MySQL.
• Is interested in open-source Web application development.
• Has bachelor’s degree, plus at least two years of front-end Web development experience, preferably within an agency environment.

We are especially interested in candidates with experience writing scalable themes for open-source CMS applications like Drupal, WordPress and Joomla. Candidates with Flash development or design experience will also have a leg up on the competition.
