Position Summary:

• The Front End Web Developer will be part of the Product team and will have responsibility for ensuring high usability, efficiency, effectiveness and scalability for web-based applications and platforms.
• The Front End Web Developer will perform a variety of tasks including analyzing, prototyping and evaluating user interfaces, interactions, task flows, information architectures, and data visualizations.
• The Front End Web Developer will interact with several internal departments: product management, software engineering, marketing, sales and business development.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Develops, designs and documents all or portions of web-based applications and platforms.
• Plans, organizes, directs, monitors, and evaluates the performance of assigned projects or products.
• Performs research, requirements definitions, analysis, development, acquisition, and implementation of software or designs.
• Highly involved in web-based applications implementation and helping the software engineering life-cycle from gathering requirements, designing, developing, unit testing and deployment.
• Prepares project plans, progress and status reports.

Qualities and Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of prior experience in a Front End Web Developer role for an online media organization with a strong B2B focus. A minimum of 3 years overall relevant experience in the online industry would be a plus.
• Candidate must display attention to detail, be able to organize time effectively, and work under extreme deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

• Experience with UI and design.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture.
• Experience with content management systems and web publishing (Drupal experience preferred).
• Strong experience with cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
• Expert-level knowledge of standards-based front-end web development techniques (hand-coded HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, PHP and CSS for layout).
• General knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and other web graphics editing/optimization tools. Flash (with Action Script knowledge) a plus.
• Ability to follow design and functional specifications provided by various teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to complete and juggle multiple projects and responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines.
• Quick learner and good judgment, ability to work independently in a team environment.
• Understanding of the necessity to meet stringent time deadlines.
• Must have demonstrated a strong track record of success.
