Front End Developer
A leading lifestyle media network is beefing up its internal development team, and they need a Front End Developer to work on some of their most popular brands.
They own some of the biggest names in lifestyle content, but you’ll be working specifically on their food and cooking properties. To score this gig, you’ll need to be a versatile dev with an Agile orientation, strong front end chops, and solid experience with sites and services hosted on Amazon Web Services or a similar PaaS. And hey, if you’re passionate about food and cooking, it wouldn’t hurt.
As part of task and sprint planning, you’ll provide input on feasibility, technical solution design, and prioritization. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders–including product, search, content–to ensure integrations and dependencies are thoroughly planned and communicated. And definitely expect to provide demos of your deliverables throughout a collaborative review process.
Speaking of collaboration, you’ll contribute to knowledge sharing by participating in brown bag sessions, an internal team blog, and drafting/updating internal wiki documentation. Last but not least, this is an Agile shop, so expect to build, release, and iterate quickly. This team also operates with a DevOps mindset. Team members work together and share responsibilities regarding cloud infrastructure, scalability, and automation.
You’re definitely at home in an Agile environment. You love to collaborate, and you’re not too precious with your code. When you get constructive feedback, you don’t get snippy–you get better.
Killer dev chops are a must here, but a love of food and cooking–especially a knowledge of the media landscape surrounding it–will earn you an extra Michelin star.
These are huge media products with fanatically loyal fanbases. If you like the idea of your work being seen by millions, this is the gig for you.
