Design & Market Researcher
Tala (formerly InVenture) is looking for a talented and passionate researcher to own design, user and market research for a platform that is providing financial choice and control for the global middle class.

What you’ll do here
Working within the Product team, you’ll ensure that we have the best possible understanding of and insights into our customers’ lives, attitudes, and behaviors. Your research will contribute to work across many teams—including product, customer experience, portfolio, data science, and growth—connecting day-to-day work with our end users and markets.
Plan and carry out research projects that fit into the product development life cycle, from user personas to concept testing to usability testing
Spend a significant part of the year (~30-50%) in emerging markets around the world using human centered design to understand our customers’ experiences, desires, and mental models
Structure and coordinate market research efforts to gain insight into country-specific trends, demographics, market dynamics and competitors
Leverage our extensive customer mobile data to pioneer research techniques that help us understand our users (in collaboration with our data analysts)
Analyze results and provide recommendations that deliver user and business insight to grow InVenture’s business
At least 2-3 years experience in user or market research for a startup, tech company, financial services company, or consulting firm
Highly proficient in a range of research methods to understand from the “what/who” we serve to the “how/why” they interact with our product. Methods include surveys, interviews, focus groups, diary studies, usability testing, and secondary research
Collaborate well cross-functionally
Organized self-starter who can execute independently at a high level
Expert communicator who presents research findings in structured and data-driven manner
