First a note from the design team at Fi:

Are you Driven by Design? Let’s design together!

We thought of 2 ways to write this job post – one from a designer’s perspective (me) and another from the official HR perspective (below). Bottom line: we have openings for design positions. The role is what you make of it. Titles are not important here, what’s important to our design team is that each member lives and breathes design. At Fi we get a blank canvas to work with, and as much control over a project’s direction as we require. We believe when a designer “owns” the project, they drive it to levels not possible otherwise. “Owning the project” means you push for quality in everything from layouts to information architecture to polishing the final design details. There’s plenty of help and support around so your development is in your hands. Our company was founded by a designer, so our roots and passion are in design.

Fi has 2 offices, one in NY and one in Stockholm. If you don’t have a VISA for either country, Fi will organize that for you. We put a little video together on our blog to give you the best insight into a design job here at Fi. Watch it here.

Designer Applicant Qualifications

• Passionate about application design and details


• Responsible for content layout, pixel perfect visual appearance, and usability design


• Able to work in a team setting as well as demonstrate leadership skills


• People management skills


• Several years of hands-on experience with commercial site projects


• Strong spoken and written English


• Superior knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator


• Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques


• A strong online portfolio displaying user-centered design


• Sharp eye for concept and execution and sharp mind for business discussions
