Creative Lead
Mission:
TroopSwap is an agile, well-funded web startup looking for a talented , Senior Designer to lead all of our UI / UX / Design efforts for our web and mobile platforms. This individual will have the skills and experience necessary to implement a robust design process on their own. Candidates must have experience working on consumer-facing web applications, with extensive experience in crafting beautiful HTML, CSS & Javascript. Background:
TroopSwap’s underlying philosophy is simple: a life of military service should have its perks! We are proud to exclusively serve veterans, service members and their immediate family members. Our goal is to take military appreciation to a new level by building the first exclusively military eCommerce platform. We provide much needed employment opportunities for military spouses in our local markets while donating 10% of our profits to the Wounded Warrior Project. The merchants featured on our platform have partnered with us to offer deals not available to the general public. Every aspect of our operations and business model is designed to create value for the military community.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Experience being a significant contributor to teams in dynamic and fast-growth environments
- Extensive experience in conceptualizing, designing and specifying the execution of interactive experiences
- Experience in creating and executing design concepts as well as maintaining visual appearance, usability and brand continuity across digital platforms and devices
- Significant experience in the following:
- Creating storyboards, wireframes and mock-ups
- GIMP or Photoshop for graphic design; Balsamiq or Omnigraffle for wire framing
- Ability to craft beautiful HTML / CSS / JS
- Portfolio of designs / concepts
Bonus points for any of the following:
- Public GitHub repository of personal work
- Public Dribbble (or similar) profile of personal work
- Experience with Rails directly or working with a Rails team
- Experience with HAML and SASS
- Experience working in startups
