Backend Engineer
Our traffic numbers are growing, and so is our list of feature/project ideas :) We are therefore looking for a backend engineer that can help with scaling, extending, and evolving our backend infrastructure to handle all this.
We’re a small and flexible team, and the person we hire will play a very integral part in engineering. We expect the person to work on everything from architecture, implementation, infrastructure management, and firefighting — just like the rest of us.
Technology-wise, the backend is mostly built in Python, using MySQL and MongoDB as data stores — everything hosted in Amazon AWS. With around 3.5M concurrent visitors at peak hours every day, this infrastructure sees a lot of data. Plenty of challenges to be solved.
Responsibilities
Drive development of internal and external APIs
Integrate external data sources with chartbeat
Scaling existing backend systems
Skills
Architectural and data modeling skills
Experience with building high-traffic systems
Strong programming skills
BS or MS in Computer Science (or related field)
