Tenure-Track Position Opening


POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor of Art (Graphic Design Program)

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 21, 2017 (Fall Semester)

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience



MFA in Graphic Design or MFA in Art with a specialization in Graphic Design. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the degree by August 1, 2017.

Demonstrated proficiency in typography and graphic design image making.

Demonstrated proficiency in visual problem-solving skills and artistic abilities applicable to the wide-ranging and highly adaptive profession of Graphic Design.

Demonstrated potential for success in teaching graphic design at the college level.

Demonstrated proficiency in current computer software applications relevant to art and Graphic Design.

Demonstrated potential for developing a strong record of professional achievement in Graphic Design.

Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.


Demonstrated excellence in teaching a range of courses in Graphic Design and/or Visual Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in a broadly defined School of Art.

Demonstrated excellence in professional achievement in Graphic Design and/or related fields.

Demonstrated proficiency in interface design, including UX/UI, mobile, and web.

Conversant in new and emerging technologies pertinent to Graphic Design.

Demonstrated effectiveness in thinking strategically, artistically and analytically.

Demonstrated potential for doing interdisciplinary work.

Experience in any of the following: student advising, curriculum development, program coordination, committee work, or other service.
